Welcome back to school everyone! I am so excited to see you all this week and to introduce our new students to all the fun things that happen in 3/4C. I have been very busy getting our classroom all ready for the new year. Those of you that were my students last year will notice quite a few changes! 2016 is going to be a fabulous year. I will see you all on Thursday!

Over the weekend horrible events happened in Paris. So far away from us here in Australia but we are still feeling some of their pain. Leave a message of peace to let the people of Paris know that you are thinking of them.
We have found a great new Numeracy card game. We have been playing it heaps over the past couple of weeks! It is called RowCo and involves making rows and columns of cards. The card in the middle tells us which column or row we have to take a card from. Taking it in turns, we each pick a card trying to make our pile add up to either the smallest or the largest. It's lots of fun!
Yesterday we were lucky enough to have the SEDA students come and run our Tabloid Sports day. It was a great day and we really enjoyed all the different activities. Our favourites were the lacrosse toss, obstacle course, triangle maze and the parachute. It was fantastic to see students in 3/4C working together as a team for many of the activities, especially the ones where we had to create something use blocks! Thanks to the SEDA students for coming and running such fun activities for us to practise our physical activity skills.
In Inquiry this term we are looking at cultures. Last week we asked our families where we came from. We found out that we come from lots of different countries. Today we found those on a map!
Over the holidays our classroom got a much needed facelift! All the walls, as well as the ceiling have been painted (so has the hallway, wait till you see it!). We also have some beautiful new carpet. On top of that Ms Webb has moved everything around! So when you arrive at school on Monday, there will be lots of things different. What can you see that is different already?
Last Friday the 28th of August was the Cancer Council's Daffodil Day. This is a special day to raise funds for scientists (like Professor Melissa!) do to research about how to cure cancer. We celebrated this research by making our own paper daffodils, to show others we care about curing cancer. Almost everyone in our class said that they knew someone who has had cancer, which is very sad.
Thank you very much to Melissa for coming in again to help us with science!
Welcome back to Term Three! All the students in 3/4C were absolutely busting to tell everyone about their wonderful holidays this morning so we took to Twitter to tell our stories. This was a different kind of Twitter, one that we can display on our noticeboard in the hallway. We learnt about hashtags and what happens when we click on them. It was certainly a different way to write a holiday recount!
