Today is World Earth Day! It is a day to think about our planet and what we can do help keep it healthy. We have been working on persuading others to eat healthier but our planet needs to keep healthy too! Watch the video below and tell us what you could do to help keep the Earth green. If you want to Inquire more about Earth Day (maybe even think of some inventions that could help) have a look at this website.

This week we have been looking at narratives. We looked at a bunch of different books and wrote down what we thought was good about them and what was not so good about them. We then collated this information and turned it into our own writing checklist. 3/4C have been very busy writing stories and using this checklist to determine whether their story is interesting or not. We can also use the checklist when stuck on things we should add to our story to make it even better. Remembering that there is always something more we can add when we have a growth mindset! If you wander past our classroom you might notice a new display just outside our door. This year we are working hard at developing a growth mindset. This means that we are trying to be positive and embrace our mistakes as learning. Our new display shows some things that students say when they are in a fixed mindset, where they think that things can't change. On the opposite (and more colourful side) of the display is a list of more positive things that students can say instead. Things like "I can always improve, I'll keep trying" and "Is this really my best work?". As learners, we need to remember to always keep trying, everything can be improved on! Happy Easter Sunday! I hope that everyone is having a lovely holiday. I am trying to keep my dog Penny from eating the Easter chocolate! Before the end of term, 3/4C wrote about what Easter means to them. The students wrote such lovely pieces, filled with writing about family, friends and chocolate! We also made pom-pom bunnies to celebrate the holiday. They look so festive hanging up in the classroom. Have a great last week of holidays everyone, I'll see you soon! P.S. If you look carefully, you can see a sneak peek of our new wall covering that went up on the last day. It looks fantastic! |
