"At some point in my adolescence, the question: 'what do you want to be when you grow up?' seemed to be the only question on every adult's lip. There's so much pressure when we're younger to define ourselves by one thing and I disagree with that. We can and should be able to define ourselves as many things for as long as possible. Especially children."

- Lupita Nyong'o on how children should be children.
This quote from the actress Lupita Nyong'o, really struck a cord with me. As teachers, we ask our students all the time what they want to be when they grow up when really, being a child is just time to learn and to have fun. Sometimes it is easy to forget that, There are enough worries in a child's world without adding to the list with silly questions they most likely do not have an answer for, so I applaud Lupita for bringing it to the spotlight at the The Massachusetts Conference for Women in America this week.
