This term for Inquiry we are inquiring about our bodies and how they work. Last week we were lucky enough to have our Micro Biologist friend Melissa come in to visit and teach us more about how we get sick. We even got to do an experiment, testing how many germs were on our hands! Some students put their handprints on to some special plates, called agar plates. This week we looked at how the germs have grown, it is pretty disgusting! We also tested how germs spread by putting "germs" (a.k.a. glitter) on to our hands then shaking hands to see how far it spreads. |
Thank you very much to Melissa for coming in again to help us with science!

It felt soooo annoying to try and get the germs [glitter] off our hands! Melissa thx for coming in for the second time this year! Also if u had heaps on your hands then it must have been a pain to try and get off all of it. When you think about it look how much germs are spreading around us, and if your talking the three second rule then I'm out! So if we don't wash our hands then imagine how many germs could spread around our world! That means we could get really sick and nearly die of sooooo much germs on our bodies. From now on we're going to wash our hands before we eat, after going to the bathroom and only sometimes washing after playing with our pet. Because Melissa said that sometimes animals like dogs have good germs sometimes. I loved learning about germs with Melissa and she is really amazing to know all this stuff! She must study a lot of the time! I really would love it if Melissa came back again, maybe she could come to our human body 3/4 expo! I want to thx Melissa again for coming to teach all of us 3/4's we really do appreciate it!
